Why Go Local? Because Birds Don’t Believe in Borders.

My tours are for travelers who want more than a checklist. They’re for the curious, the kind, and the ones who believe birding is an act of resistance — a way to reclaim connection with the earth while resisting the fast, hollow culture of mass tourism.

I’m Pamela, a Mexico City-born birder, biologist — and your ticket to seeing the city beyond the postcards. I guide with heart, humor, and the belief that birdwatching can be a safe, welcoming space for everyone.

Whether you’re a solo woman traveler, LGBTQ+, or simply new to birding, this is your space. Birding should be free of gatekeeping, judgment, and weird stares — and here, it is.

No judgment. No weird vibes. Just nature, connection, and a guide who’s got your back.

The only thing we’ll judge? How good your bird puns are.

Take a Walk On The Wild Side

— Curated for the Curious and the Conscious

In Mexico City, beauty doesn’t hide in forests — it perches on power lines, sings from cracked sidewalks, and flashes through traffic like a middle finger to the noise. This is the half-day dive into the city’s rebel birds.

Grackles, flycatchers, hummingbirds — survivors who don’t ask permission to take up space. You’ll see them. You’ll hear them. You’ll understand why “urban” doesn’t mean “less wild.”

The Dawn Rebel

The birds that thrive in chaos.

  • 4 hours

  • Easy urban walk

  • Binoculars included  (if needed)

  • Transport included

The city bleeds into canals, grasslands, and secret forests — places where the wild hasn’t given up.

Here, egrets stalk through reeds, grebes cut the water like knives, and warblers pass through like whispers from another world.

Seven hours isn’t just a tour — it’s a portal. Step out of traffic and into the edges, where resilience and beauty collide.

The Daylong Riot

Where wild meets urban rebellion.

  • 7 hours

  • Moderate walking

  • Binoculars included  (if needed)

  • Transport included

If you want to know Mexico, you can’t stop at the streets.

You have to climb. Past concrete, past suburbs, past the noise — until the air is thin, the forest breathes, and a Red Warbler blazes scarlet against the green.

This is not a tour. It’s an odyssey. Twelve hours of landscapes and species that remind you: freedom has no city limits.

The Full Anarchy

From city chaos to mountain silence.

  • 7 hours

  • Moderate walking

  • Binoculars included  (if needed)

  • Transport included

Hiring local isn’t just a feel-good choice — it’s a political one.

Every peso you spend here stays in the city, supporting small businesses and conservation work.

No money goes to foreign guides that leave locals out of the game.

You leave with lifers on your list and the city a little better than you found it.

It has been the best trip and we can't thank you enough for providing such a memorable experience to start out our trip!

We sure have a lot to reflect on with all the feathered friends we're able to meet.

Also looking forward to the next time we're in the area to go birding

You knew so much, were so patient, and your enthusiasm was so infectious.

You were so professional- we've all commented on it.

You're an excellent guide!

I feel tremendously lucky to have spent two half-days with bird guide Pam Garcia.

If you're queer and you're going to spend 15+ hours with a stranger in remote locations, it's nice to find someone who will respect you as a person.

We had so many lovely conversations, sharing excitement over birds and FBC and @galbatrossproject's work to better understand female birds, and commiserating over the challenges of having travel-heavy jobs. Along the way, she helped me add FIFTY new species to my life list!

Birds and Monarchs?

Because migration is the most punk thing nature ever did.

Every winter, millions of Monarch butterflies cross borders without passports, visas, or permission. They don’t care about walls or politics — just instinct, survival, and beauty.

You’ll follow their path into the forests of central Mexico, where the air turns orange with wings and the sound of life feels sacred. But this isn’t just about butterflies — we’ll bird along the way, meeting warblers and tanagers who’ve traveled the same invisible highways.

This is a pilgrimage for those who believe freedom should be wild, borderless, and collective.

Birding is more than a hobby — it’s a movement.
The Punk Bird Club is where birders, travelers, women, and LGBTQ+ folks come together to say: this is our space, too.

A place to connect, share, and wear your birding heart on your sleeve (literally — with punk bird merch that funds local projects).

Join the club for early access to tours, exclusive events, and a community that sees birding as both joy and resistance.

Because when you bird with us, you’re not just spotting species.

You’re part of something louder. Wilder. Freer.

✨ This isn’t just birding. This is birding with a heartbeat.

The Movement

Birding has always been radical. But when women claim the binoculars, it becomes revolutionary.

That’s why this project creates spaces just for women — safe, welcoming, and alive with connection.

From all-women bird camps to late-night girl birding sessions where we stitch, share, and watch the skies, these experiences are about more than birds. They’re about belonging.

I also run a project on iNaturalist highlighting the overlooked half of birdlife: female birds in Mexico. Because visibility matters — in nature, and in life.

✨ Birding is punk. And so is making space for women.
